Around 7:30 AM, when over 300 candidates were getting settled for the test, the bizarre incident took place.
When an eagle swooped in and grabbed a candidate’s hall pass, a Kerala exam day took a dramatic turn.
According to a story in The Hindu, the event occurred at the Government Upper Primary School in Kasaragod at around 7:30 AM, right when almost 300 applicants were getting settled for the Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) exam. A candidate who had come early in the expectation of a stress-free start ended up at the center of an odd scene that nobody could have foreseen.
Unexpectedly, an eagle descended, grabbed the candidate’s hall pass right out of their hands, and took off toward the top floor of the building. A surprised audience gathered below as it sat placidly on a window ledge, still holding the paper.
The bird remained motionless for several tense, strangely quiet minutes, seemingly unconcerned. The paper was then released nearly theatrically. The hall pass was securely recovered after floating down. Fortunately, there were no problems with the candidate taking the test.
Since then, the video of the eagle clutching the hall pass has gone viral, generating a mixture of laughter and jest on the internet. As expected, social media users responded with excellent humor. “Ill-eagle kam kara h (He has done illegal work),” said one commenter. “Usko bhi padh likh ke government nokri karna hoga” (He must also desire to study and acquire a government job), stated another.
